The Smallest Kindergartener

A kindergarten class was having an Easter egg hunt on the playground today when we happened to show up. After watching them hunt their Easter eggs, Eddie decided to be one of the kindergarteners. He sat with them, told them his name was Eddie, and asked what their names were. They even gave him a blue Easter egg, his favorite color!

Spring

The weather has been wonderful.

A rainy Sunday trip to Toys R Us with Mom, Dad, and Billy.

We saw something moving across the road on the way home... Kyle got out and captured this gorgeous creature. We let it go in the backyard.

We can finally go outside without collecting coats, hats, mittens, socks, and shoes... we don't even need to change out of our pajamas to dig in the yard now!

These have replaced "Wilson the Snowman."

A kid this dirty must have had a fun day!

A cold snap. Mom & Dad took turns running while Eddie played in the sand.

Eddie just can't wait for baby brother to get up and play!

A walk in the neighborhood after dinner.

Eddie's First Haircut

Eddie came home in a pair of LuAnne's old sunglasses.

Testing out a new toy that the Griffiths sent for Billy. It gets the "Big Brother Seal of Approval."

Eddie's new pet fishie, waiting for his new bowl to be set up. Eddie named his fishie "Blue." He stands on the chair to talk to Blue several times a day. "Hi fishie Blue! Feed the fishie?"

It's not all happy and harmonious.

Eddie and I had another Big Boy Day. We left Billy at LuAnne's and went to Hendersonville for pizza, the "Hands On" children's gallery, and Dancing Bear Toys.

You know it's been a good day when Eddie's asleep the instant his head touches the carseat.

Blue in his new bowl.

Pre-haircut wrestling match.

Note Eddie's shadow in this picture. We have reached the point where he can climb up all the obstacles and even hold himself up with his arms on the monkey bars. That's good, because I'm still not very mobile with Billy strapped to my chest... though I can get around a lot better than I could 38 weeks pregnant. Now it's time to learn bigger lessons, like don't cut in line on the slide and don't throw dirt at other kids, no matter how much fun everyone seems to be having!

Eddie got his first haircut after watching his daddy get a cut. He was pretty doubtful at first, but was convinced that this would be okay when Ms. Angie gave him a sucker. What a big boy, and what a great haircut!

Since Eddie discovered how much fun it is to paint, I set up his new easel and got him some washable paints. He requires a whole lot of supervision not to dribble the paint, but he enjoys it so much.

We met Oaklynn and Maple at the playground for some fun playtime followed by Mexican food for lunch.
